Aqua of the Seas Cruise Review: Cabins and Lan Ha Bay Itineraries

Listen to this page Hands-free overview

Aqua of the Seas is a 32-cabin overnight cruise with private balconies, an outdoor pool and two- or three-day itineraries in Lan Ha Bay. It suits travelers who want time aboard a larger boat alongside kayaking and a Cat Ba cave visit; the longer trip adds a day-boat excursion to Viet Hai village.

Check the ship name before comparing rooms or paying a deposit. Aqua of the Seas and Aqua Luxury are separate vessels in the same hospitality group, so their cabin layouts, facilities and booking packages are not interchangeable.

Which cabin fits your group?

Aqua of the Seas cabins have private balconies and bathtubs, but an ordinary bathtub is different from a private outdoor Jacuzzi. Choose by the actual bed arrangement and deck as well as the room name.

  • Aqua Junior Suite: about 40 square meters on the first deck, with a double or twin bed arrangement. This is a starting point for two travelers who want a balcony without choosing an upper-deck category.
  • Aqua Senior Suite: about 45 square meters on the second deck, with double or twin options. Confirm the cabin location if proximity to shared areas matters to you.
  • Aqua Junior Family: about 66 square meters on the first deck, arranged as two interconnected rooms with a double bed and two single beds. This layout is useful when parents and children want separate sleeping spaces with an internal connection.
  • Aqua Triple Suite: about 65 square meters on the third deck, with three single beds. This is a different arrangement from putting an extra bed into a double room.
  • President Outdoor Jacuzzi: about 160 square meters on the second deck, with a private outdoor Jacuzzi. Confirm which additional services are included in the rate you are offered.

A room’s maximum occupancy does not tell you how many beds it contains. Give the booking team every child’s age and ask for the exact bedding, extra-bed charge and connecting-room arrangement in writing. Travelers who find stairs difficult should also confirm the full route between the tender, cabin, restaurant and excursion boats before booking.

Two days and one night: Tra Bau and Trung Trang Cave

The trip starts at Tuan Chau, where you check in before taking a transfer boat to the overnight vessel. The first afternoon’s program includes the Tra Bau area for kayaking or swimming, subject to conditions and the crew’s instructions. Onboard time includes meals, a cooking demonstration and evening leisure activities.

The final morning’s excursion is Trung Trang Cave on Cat Ba, reached by a boat connection and bus journey. Wear shoes with grip and be prepared for steps and uneven cave surfaces. After returning to the cruise, you have the final meal and transfer back to the harbor.

This itinerary suits a short stay, but the cave excursion and departure preparations make the second morning fairly structured. If you would rather remain aboard, arrange that with the crew before the excursion leaves.

Three days and two nights: a separate day boat

The longer itinerary adds a middle-day excursion on a smaller boat while you keep the overnight cruise as your accommodation. Take what you need for the day; do not expect access to your cabin throughout the outing.

  • Viet Hai village: the program includes cycling through the village area on Cat Ba. If you cannot cycle, ask which alternative is available for your departure and whether it costs extra.
  • Lunch: served during the day excursion, so dietary arrangements need to cover this meal as well as those on the main ship.
  • Afternoon activity: the itinerary offers kayaking at Tai Keo or swimming at Ba Trai Dao, also called Three Peaches. These are alternative arrangements, rather than two guaranteed stops.

You return to the main vessel for the second night, with Trung Trang Cave on the final morning. Choose three days if the village and additional time on the water appeal to you; check the option to stay aboard if a full excursion day would be tiring.

Pool, meals and time aboard

The ship has an outdoor pool, gym and spa, with a restaurant on the second deck serving Vietnamese and other Asian and European dishes. Check pool opening arrangements and spa charges aboard. A pool does not replace supervision for children, and bay swimming remains a separate activity controlled by the crew and local conditions.

Send dietary requests before confirming the cruise, including any ingredients you need to avoid. Ask for a specific response about preparation and the separate day-boat lunch on a three-day trip. A general offer to accommodate dietary needs is not a guarantee that every allergy or restriction can be handled.

Boarding and transfers

Aqua of the Seas uses the lounge at 27B, Tuan Chau. Reconfirm the meeting point and required arrival time on your voucher, then give those details to your driver. The cruise transfer boat is one part of boarding; it does not include your road journey to the port.

The operator’s direct cruise itinerary excludes the Hanoi–Halong road transfer. A package sold with transport may have different inclusions. For Hanoi, Hai Phong or Ninh Binh, ask for the exact pickup address, vehicle arrangement, extra charge and return drop-off instead of relying on a generic pickup time.

What to confirm before booking

  • The vessel is Aqua of the Seas, with your chosen cabin category, deck and bed layout.
  • The price covers your full party and clearly identifies meals, excursions, transfers, drinks and optional services.
  • The current itinerary includes the activities you care about, with an acceptable alternative if weather or local instructions change the route.
  • The cancellation terms explain what happens if the cruise is shortened or cannot operate.
  • Your onward flight or train allows time after the confirmed harbor return, road travel and check-in requirements.

If you are still choosing a vessel, compare the Lan Ha Bay cruises currently available through Hai Phong Tours. Match the actual ship, room layout and excursion program before comparing the headline price.
