Required Information
Some services require passenger information for hotel registration, cruise procedures, permits, or other local requirements. We only request information necessary for your trip and keep it private.
Required details may include:
- Full name as shown on the passport
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Passport number
- Nationality
Please send the requested information to sales@haiphongtours.com or via WhatsApp after your trip has been confirmed.
Food and Dietary Requirements
Please tell us in advance about any food allergies, intolerances, vegetarian or vegan requirements, religious dietary restrictions, or other special meal requests.
Provide as much detail as possible so we can check the available meal arrangements with the service provider. Special meals may not be available on every tour or cruise.
Tips Before You Go
Halong Bay
Single-use plastic items may be restricted in parts of Halong Bay. We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle and avoiding disposable plastic bags whenever possible.
Recommended items:
- Camera or phone
- Sun cream
- Hat or cap
- Sunglasses
- Umbrella or light raincoat
- Comfortable walking shoes
For kayaking or swimming, bring sandals or flip-flops, swimwear, a towel, and a change of clothes, as you may get wet.
Day cruises normally have toilets onboard, but shower facilities may not be available. Comfortable footwear is recommended if you plan to climb to the viewpoint on Titov Island.
Ninh Binh
Boat trips are one of the highlights of Ninh Binh and may last approximately 1.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on the route, weather, and local conditions.
Bring sun cream, sunglasses, a hat or umbrella, and drinking water. During cooler or rainy weather, a light jacket or raincoat may also be useful.
Local photographers may take photos of visitors during the boat trip and offer printed copies for sale near the end of the route. Purchasing these photos is entirely optional.
Tips for boat rowers are appreciated but not compulsory. Please tip only when you are satisfied with the service.
Hanoi
Traffic in Hanoi can be very busy, especially in the Old Quarter and during morning and afternoon rush hours. Some streets may restrict cars, larger vehicles, or tourist buses at certain times, so direct pickup from your hotel is not always possible.
When the vehicle cannot reach your hotel, we will confirm a nearby pickup point in advance. Depending on the location and traffic restrictions:
- Our guide may meet you at your hotel and walk with you to the pickup point.
- Our guide may assist you by motorbike for the short transfer to the vehicle, when suitable and permitted.
- You may be asked to walk or arrange your own short transfer to the confirmed pickup point.
Please be ready on time, keep your phone available, and follow the pickup instructions sent by our team. Traffic restrictions and meeting points may change at short notice.
Take care when crossing the road, walk at a steady pace, and avoid sudden movements when traffic is passing.
Keep your phone, wallet, passport, and other valuables secure in crowded areas. Use official taxis, ride-hailing apps, or transport arranged by your hotel or tour operator.
For visits to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, temples, pagodas, and other formal sites, wear respectful clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. Security checks and photography restrictions may apply.
Train Street access may change without notice because of local safety controls. Please follow instructions from your guide and local authorities.
Hai Phong
Hai Phong has a quieter city centre than Hanoi, but traffic can still be busy during morning and afternoon rush hours. Allow extra travel time when heading to the airport, railway station, bus station, or cruise port.
For trips to Cat Ba, Do Son, or nearby islands, ferry and speedboat schedules may change because of weather, tides, maintenance, or local operating conditions.
Bring sun protection, drinking water, and comfortable shoes for outdoor visits. A light raincoat is useful during the rainy season.
Some local markets, food streets, and traditional neighbourhoods can be crowded. Keep your personal belongings secure and ask before taking close-up photographs of local people or vendors.
If your itinerary includes a cruise-ship pickup, ferry transfer, airport transfer, or railway connection, please provide the correct arrival details and keep your phone available in case the meeting point changes.
Pagodas, Temples and Sacred Sites
Please dress respectfully when visiting pagodas, temples, churches, and other sacred places.
- Cover your shoulders and knees.
- Avoid very short trousers, skirts, or revealing clothing.
- Speak quietly and follow local instructions.
- Remove your shoes when required.
- Ask your guide before taking photographs inside worship areas.
Weather and Personal Belongings
Tour itineraries and activity times may change because of weather, traffic, tides, safety requirements, or instructions from local authorities.
Keep your passport, money, phone, and other valuables with you. Do not leave important belongings unattended in vehicles, boats, restaurants, or public areas.
Health and Mobility
Please inform us before departure if any participant has limited mobility, a medical condition, is pregnant, or may need additional assistance.
Some itineraries include stairs, uneven paths, caves, boat transfers, cycling, kayaking, or extended periods of walking. Our team can help you check whether the selected itinerary is suitable.
