1. Du Hang pagoda

Du Hang pagoda is located right at 121 lane, Chùa Hàng street, Hải Phòng, Vietnam. It is one way road for car. Then if you are planing to visit by car, you may need to park in front of pagoda. When you visit this pagoda, you will see architecture of ancient pagoda built over thousand years ago. It’s been rebuilt several times, but remains a fine example of traditional Vietnamese architecture and sculpture. Up to now, they still keep an ancient bronze bell on the top of bell towel right in front of entrance gate.

2. Bach Dang Giang relic

Bach Dang Giang relic is on Tran Hung Dao street, Trang Kenh village, Minh Duc town, Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city, Vietnam. It is around 23 km away from city center. If you go there by taxi, it may take you around 50 minutes drive. Taxi fee is around 280.000VND (US$13) per way.

This is ideal place for touristy who want to learn more history of Hai Phong. The museum contains a great number of important artifacts, such as bamboo stakes well-preserved in a glass cabinet, stories of Bach Dang battles, diagrams of these battles, and archaeological ceramics through several historic periods in Vietnam.

Every year, many major festivals are held in Trang Kenh relic complex, such as a festival at the beginning of the new lunar year, Tran Temple Festival, Buddha’s Birthday, and the Ghost Festival. Such festivals not only satisfy the spiritual demand of the Vietnamese but also hold great appeal for visitors.

3. Hai Phong Opera House

Hai Phong Opera House is at 2 Hoang Van Thu street, Quang Trung, Hong Bang, Hai Phong, Vietnam. This house is a French built and was opened in 1912.

Under French rule the Opera House had primarily been for the colonial population. With the departure of the French population the Opera House turned more to local genres including classical Sino-Vietnamese hat tuong opera, classical Vietnamese hat cheo drama, and the popular cai luong folk musical, as well as Socialist theatre and musical. The Opera House also holds concerts of Vietnamese music, both classical ca tru, and neotraditional Vietnamese-Western – “revised national music”, folk genres such as hat chau van and quan ho, and popular songs.

4. Le Chan general statue

Le Chan general statue is close to Hai Phong Opera House. You can walk on foot. It’s about 2 minutes walk only.

Le Chan was A Woman General who supported to Hai Ba Trung to fight against Invader China Troops during 40-42 AD. Haiphong People consider Her as the Tutelary Spirit who Founded An Bien Village (Haiphong City Now). Le Chan Statue is made by Haiphong Factory of Bronze Casting.

5. Hai Phong Museum

Hai Phong Museum is at 66 Dien Bien Phu street, Minh Khai, Hong Bang, Hai Phong, Vietnam.

6. Tam Bac walking street

Tam Bac walking street is new opening this 2019. It is nice place for people to relax at night with so many coffee shops, bars, pubs. It’s wonderful to enjoy cup of coffee, face to Tam Bac river to see art of lighting system, swains…The best time to visit is after 19h.

7. Villa of Bao Dai King

Villa of Bao Dai King is at Vung hill at Zone 2 Do Son, Hai Phong, Vietnam. Bao Dai Villa is considered the only royal stopover of the Nguyen Dynasty in the North. With its unique architecture style, it has become a popular destination for tourists in Do Son.

If you prefer, you can hire king, queen, prince, princess costumes to try on and take photos. It’s only US$2 person. Also, you can experience overnight stay here if room is available.

The villa is 3,700m2 with a total use area of 1,00m2. There are two bedrooms for King Bao Dai and Queen Nam Phuong and a reading room on the ground floor and five bedrooms for princes, princesses and mandarin Nguyen De (a reliable assistant of the king) on the second floor. All the objects are preserved intact in the bedrooms.
