Hanoi Perfume Workshops: Muoi Studio, Cleopatra and What to Book

Listen to this page Hands-free overview

A perfume workshop in Hanoi lets you choose fragrance notes, test a blend and take home a bottle you helped make. Muoi Studio is a useful starting point for a scheduled class with published bottle-size options; Cleopatra Perfume suits a more personal scent-design appointment, with its Ha Hoi branch convenient for central Hanoi. Choose by the amount of guidance, language and final bottle you want, rather than the number of scents advertised.

One important address change: NOTE – The Scent Lab’s Lotte Mall Tay Ho studio permanently closed in August 2026. It is no longer a Hanoi workshop option. Do not travel to the mall for a class based on an older recommendation or a photograph of that former studio.

Muoi Studio: a structured perfume-making class

Muoi begins with a scent-selection exercise, then helps you build a fragrance formula. You can test and adjust that formula before blending the final perfume. The workshop includes choosing the bottle and personalizing its label, with a box and bag for taking it away.

This format suits a beginner who wants to participate in the full sequence rather than simply choose a ready-made fragrance. The process includes at least two formula tests, so leave time to compare versions instead of committing to the first combination you like.

Location, timing and contact

The studio is on 2/F at 222 Nguyen Van Tuyet, Hanoi. Save Muối Studio with the full street address; it is outside the Old Quarter walking area. Contact 0589 820 693, or +84 589 820 693, and muoistudioinfo@gmail.com.

The general studio hours are 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., daily, but a workshop needs its own confirmed starting time. Allow about two to three hours for the class and add transport separately. Confirm the finishing time if you are fitting the session before a train, flight or another reservation.

Prices and bottle sizes

Reference starting prices on Muoi’s direct booking menu are:

  • 10 ml workshop: from VND 599,000.
  • 30 ml workshop: from VND 799,000.
  • 50 ml workshop: from VND 999,000.

Choose the workshop option by its bottle size, then confirm the total for your date and number of participants. A smaller bottle is useful if the class itself matters more than leaving with a large quantity. The workshop description also mentions 100 ml bottles, but request a separate quote and availability for that size.

For direct reservations, Muoi’s terms do not allow cancellation or refunds of completed online payments. A request to move the date or time must reach the studio at least 24 hours ahead. If your travel plans are uncertain, settle the timing before paying; do not assume a different platform’s cancellation promise applies to a direct booking.

Cleopatra Perfume: a scent-design appointment near central Hanoi

Cleopatra’s approach begins with a conversation about the smells you enjoy. The consultant helps you choose and adjust a combination, then guides the measuring and blending. It is a useful alternative when you have a scent idea in mind and want help translating it into a wearable perfume.

That idea can be simple: something light and citrus-led, a floral scent that is not too sweet, or a warmer woody fragrance. You do not need to arrive with a technical formula. Ask what materials are available rather than expecting any specific flower, fruit or memory to be reproducible exactly.

Book the Ha Hoi branch specifically

The central branch is at 25B Ha Hoi, Hanoi, also written 25B Xom Ha Hoi. Its branch number is 0948 836 059, or +84 948 836 059. The company email is cleopatraperfume.coo@gmail.com; put “Ha Hoi workshop” in the message.

Cleopatra also lists other branches, including Hoang Cau and Nguyen Trai. A company’s main contact address is not necessarily the branch you intend to visit. Get the Ha Hoi meeting point confirmed before arranging your car.

Request a quote for the complete appointment: bottle size, number of makers, English guidance, expected duration and what you will mix yourself. Agree on the cancellation or rescheduling terms for that specific booking. A shop consultation and a scheduled hands-on class may involve different amounts of time and participation.

Cleopatra keeps customer formulas for later remaking. Before leaving, establish how yours will be identified and how you would request the same blend again. Retaining a recipe does not automatically include a free refill or international delivery.

Its fragrance warranty applies to designed perfumes of 30 ml and above, including assessment of fragrance-adjustment requests and manufacturing defects. If that support influences your bottle choice, confirm that your workshop purchase qualifies and how a request would work after you leave Hanoi. Poor storage is excluded.

Choose the experience, not just the largest bottle

Choose Muoi when you want a clearly described class sequence and a direct price comparison by bottle size. Its Nguyen Van Tuyet location requires a separate journey, and the direct cancellation policy makes a firm date important.

Choose Cleopatra’s Ha Hoi branch when central location and a consultant-led discussion of your scent preferences matter more. Establish the exact workshop format and price before treating it as a confirmed activity.

For either venue, request English instruction when booking. An English description online does not settle which instructor will be present at your chosen time. Couples should clarify whether they are making separate bottles; a private session is also different from individual help during a shared class.

How to get more from the session

Arrive without a strong perfume of your own so it is easier to compare the trial blends. Start with a short description of what you like and dislike, then let the instructor narrow the options. Listing every attractive note at once can make it harder to recognize what you actually want to wear.

Label your test strips or trial versions and keep track of the changes you make. Compare them again after a short pause rather than judging only the first spray. Ask the instructor how the fragrance is expected to develop and follow their testing instructions.

Before leaving, check the bottle closure, keep its label and request storage and use instructions. If you are flying onward, pack it according to your airline and departure airport’s liquid rules; a souvenir box does not determine whether a bottle can go in hand luggage.

Fit one workshop into a Hanoi half-day

Leave enough time for the class to be the main activity in that part of the day. For Ha Hoi, arrange your other central-Hanoi stops around the confirmed appointment. For Muoi, allow a separate journey to Nguyen Van Tuyet instead of squeezing it between Old Quarter walking stops.

If you prefer a scented object for the home to a perfume worn on skin, compare Hanoi candle-making workshops. Choose the actual wax project and check its cooling and collection time before fitting it into your departure day.

If strong fragrances are unpleasant for you, a different making activity may be a better choice. The Hanoi silver-jewelry workshop guide compares traditional metalworking with silver clay. For buying gifts rather than joining a class, the North Vietnam souvenir guide covers other practical choices.
