Lan Ha Bay Cruise Cabins Compared: Beds, Baths, Balconies and Capacity

Listen to this page Hands-free overview

Choose Mila Grand if you want the clearest combination of a roomy standard cabin, a private balcony and a published triple layout with three separate beds. Choose Aqua Luxury if you want the widest step-up range, from 32 m² Junior cabins to large terrace suites. Choose Calypso if a simpler, compact cabin plan suits you and about 20–20.5 m² per room is enough.

The current Hai Phong Tours listings use the same cabin menu for each brand’s 2-day and 3-day cruises. Your duration therefore does not change the advertised cabin types, but your travel date can change what is actually available. Treat “up to” capacity as a requestable setup, not a guarantee that every guest receives a permanent bed.

Quick cabin choices

  • Two adults wanting more standard-cabin space: Mila Grand lists 45 m² Junior, Senior and Executive cabins, all with private balconies.
  • Two adults wanting the widest suite range: Aqua Luxury progresses from Junior and Senior balcony cabins to Honeymoon, Queen and King terrace categories.
  • Three adults wanting three separate beds: Mila Grand Senior Triple or Executive Triple is the clearest published match; each lists three single beds in 54 m².
  • Four adults needing an internal door: Mila Grand Junior Family and Calypso Deluxe Family Connecting explicitly identify interconnecting rooms. Aqua family packages need the door arrangement confirmed.
  • A private balcony at the lowest cabin tier: Aqua Luxury and Mila Grand advertise private balconies throughout their current cabin ranges. On Calypso, choose a second-deck Deluxe Balcony rather than a first-deck Deluxe.
  • A bathtub as a deciding feature: Aqua’s Junior and Senior tubs are clearly documented. Mila’s HPT cabin cards list a tub and rain shower, but the fixture should be reconfirmed for the assigned cabin. Do not assume a tub on Calypso without written confirmation.

First decode the cabin name

On these HPT pages, “Single,” “Double” and “Triple” are often ways to sell the same physical cabin. For example, Aqua Junior Single, Junior Double and Junior Triple all refer to a 32 m² first-deck Junior cabin; the occupancy and bed setup change, not the underlying room size.

A “Triple” may mean a normal double or twin cabin with an extra bed. A “Family” option may mean two cabins sold together. Before comparing names, reduce each offer to four facts: the physical cabin category, exact bed setup, cabin number and whether any connecting door is inside the rooms.

Aqua Luxury cabin options

The current Aqua Luxury 2-day cruise and Aqua Luxury 3-day cruise show the same 13 booking variants. HPT advertises 32 cabins, private balconies and sea views throughout the ship.

Junior: 32 m² on the first deck

  • Normal bed: one double or two singles.
  • Double setup: listed for up to 2 adults and 1 child.
  • Triple setup: the same 32 m² cabin with an extra bed, listed for up to 3 adults and 1 child.
  • Family setup: two 32 m² rooms with double and twin beds, listed for up to 4 adults and 2 children.
  • Outside and bath: private balcony and bathtub are documented for the Junior category.

The family package shows two rooms, but the cabin card does not explicitly promise an internal door. If the adults need to reach children without entering the corridor, ask for the cabin numbers and the word interconnecting in the confirmation.

Senior: 35 m² on the second deck

Senior follows the same pattern as Junior: double or twin beds for two, an extra-bed triple option, and a two-room family option. The family package is listed as 35 m² ×2 for up to 4 adults and 2 children. A private balcony and bathtub are documented for the Senior category.

Honeymoon, Queen and King

  • Honeymoon Terrace: 45 m², second deck, fixed double bed, large terrace and a current HPT limit of 2 adults.
  • Queen: second deck, fixed double bed and large terrace; HPT offers double and extra-bed triple variants. If area is the reason for upgrading, have both the interior area and terrace area written into the quote.
  • King: 100 m², third deck, fixed double bed and large terrace; HPT offers double and extra-bed triple variants.

Honeymoon, Queen and King are better read as fixed-double suite choices than flexible twin rooms. If you require two separate permanent beds, confirm an alternative category rather than assuming the bed can be split.

Mila Grand cabin options

The current Mila Grand 2-day cruise and Mila Grand 3-day cruise also share one 13-variant menu. Mila Grand lists 27 cabins, with private outside space across the advertised range.

Junior, Senior and Executive

  • Junior: 45 m² on the first floor, double or twin beds, private balcony, and HPT-listed bathtub plus walk-in rain shower.
  • Senior: 45 m² on the second floor, double or twin beds, private balcony, and HPT-listed bathtub plus walk-in rain shower.
  • Executive: 45 m² on the third floor, double or twin beds, private balcony, and HPT-listed bathtub plus walk-in rain shower.

Each normal double variant is listed for up to 2 adults and 1 child. Junior also has an extra-bed triple and an interconnecting family package. The family card permits up to 4 adults and 2 children, but its 45 m² figure is not clear enough to treat as a combined area; ask for the area of each room in the pair.

Dedicated triples

Mila Grand’s Senior Triple and Executive Triple are both listed at 54 m² with three single beds. This is a more clearly defined three-adult arrangement than putting an extra bed into a standard cabin. If you choose Executive Triple for its higher-deck position, require the exact cabin number and deck in the confirmation.

President Suite

The President category is listed at 135 m² on the second floor with a king bed, private terrace and double Jacuzzi. HPT offers single, double and extra-bed triple quote variants. For three adults, make the final quote state both the permitted occupancy and the exact third sleeping surface.

Calypso cabin options

The current Calypso 2-day cruise and Calypso 3-day cruise share six booking variants. Calypso has 20 cabins and a straightforward deck split.

First-deck Deluxe cabins

  • Area: about 20–20.5 m² per cabin.
  • View: large sea-view window, not a private balcony.
  • Double setup: HPT lists a double or two beds for up to 2 adults and 1 child.
  • Triple setup: a double or twin arrangement plus one extra bed, listed for up to 3 adults and 1 child.
  • Family Connecting: two first-deck rooms, listed as 20.5 m² ×2, with one double and two single beds across the pair and an internal connecting door.

Calypso’s operator identifies four connecting pairs on the first floor. Because the current family capacity shown by HPT is higher than the basic four-guest description, families should confirm which children share an existing bed and whether any extra bed or crib is supplied.

Second-deck Deluxe Balcony cabins

The Balcony category is also about 20–20.5 m² but adds private outside space on the second deck. The current HPT menu offers single and double occupancy variants, with double or twin beds shown for the double option. It does not list a separate second-deck balcony triple or balcony family package.

The current cabin cards do not name the bathroom fixture. If a bathtub is important, ask for the exact assigned cabin number and written confirmation of “bathtub” or “shower”; a generic bathroom photo is not enough.

Which setup works for your party?

One adult

A single listing is usually a rate for one person occupying a normal cabin, not a smaller single room. Compare the physical category and deck with the double version before paying a single supplement.

Two adults

For a double bed, all three ships have clear options. For separate beds, Aqua Junior/Senior and Mila Junior/Senior/Executive publish double-or-twin flexibility. Calypso’s HPT menu also shows double or twin, but the exact cabin should be allocated in writing.

Three adults

Choose Mila Grand Senior Triple or Executive Triple when three permanent single beds matter. Aqua and Calypso generally use an extra bed for the third adult, so ask what type of bed is installed and how much open floor space remains. Aqua Queen, Aqua King and Mila President also have HPT extra-bed variants, but they remain fixed-double suite layouts for the first two guests.

Four adults or a family group

Mila Grand and Calypso explicitly publish connecting options. Aqua publishes paired family packages, but an internal door needs confirmation. In every case, a capacity such as “4 adults + 2 children” does not tell you how many permanent beds are present or whether a child charge applies.

Balcony, terrace and bathroom differences

  • Aqua Luxury: private outside space is advertised throughout. Junior and Senior have clearly documented balconies and bathtubs; larger categories use terrace-style positioning.
  • Mila Grand: private balconies are advertised throughout the standard cabin range. HPT lists bathtub and rain shower for Junior, Senior and Executive, while President lists a double Jacuzzi.
  • Calypso: first-deck Deluxe cabins have bay windows; private balconies are on the second deck. The bath fixture needs cabin-specific confirmation.

A “terrace” usually signals more outside space than a standard balcony, but the published room area may not tell you how much is indoors. When space drives the upgrade, ask for interior square meters and outside square meters separately.

Put these details in the written confirmation

  1. Exact cruise, duration, physical cabin category and HPT booking variant.
  2. Cabin number and deck, especially for Mila Executive Triple or a Calypso balcony cabin.
  3. Final bed layout: fixed double, convertible twin, three permanent singles or an added bed.
  4. Maximum adults and children, each child’s sleeping surface, and whether a crib or extra bed is included.
  5. For a family pair, the two cabin numbers and confirmation that the door is internal.
  6. Private balcony or terrace, interior and outside areas, and the exact bathroom fixture.

If you have not chosen a vessel or duration, compare the current Lan Ha Bay cruise options first. Then request a quote using the physical cabin category and bed arrangement, not only the short package label.
