Ruby Tree Golf Resort is an 18-hole, par-72 course in Do Son, Hai Phong. Also known by its former name, Do Son Seaside Golf Resort, it is a separate club from Dragon Golf Links. Put the full club name on your reservation and transport request.
Choose Ruby Tree for a golf outing during a Hai Phong or Do Son stay, with enough time for a full round and the journey. The most useful booking decision is whether you want golf alone or an overnight package; compare the complete price and playing arrangements before reserving either.
What to expect from the course
Pacific Coast Design created the layout, which has four tee positions, varied greens, water hazards and coastal wind. The par-3 sixth has water on the left and deep bunkers; the par-5 eighteenth finishes at a green bordered by water.
Those features reward a realistic choice of tees and landing areas. Tell the starter your normal carry distance and experience rather than choosing a tee by its color alone. Before a shot over trouble, ask the caddie for the distance to clear it and where a conservative alternative would leave your next shot.
Use the day’s scorecard and tee markers for distances. Check the breeze at the actual shot, especially after moving from a sheltered position to an open one. A club that worked on the previous hole is not automatically right for a similar distance into the wind.
If you are comparing the two Do Son clubs, read the Dragon Golf Links guide separately. Its course combinations, booking rules and clubhouse entrance belong to that club. A general request for “Do Son golf” leaves too much room for a mix-up.
Understand the visitor rate and extras
For budgeting, the standard visitor tariff for 18 holes is VND 2,700,000 on weekdays and VND 3,800,000 on weekends or holidays, including taxes, the green fee, caddie and shared cart. Carts are compulsory. Request the applicable rate for your date before paying.
A promotion may produce a different total, but compare its conditions as carefully as the headline price. Check the required starting window, number of players and eligibility. A membership benefit or resident offer may not apply to a short-stay foreign visitor.
- Equipment: obtain a separate quote for clubs, shoes and practice balls if needed.
- Cart arrangements: ask how sharing works for an odd-numbered party and whether a supplement applies.
- Caddie costs: distinguish the included service fee from gratuities or a request for a particular caddie.
- Other spending: allow for food, drinks and any charge for a non-playing companion.
Have a shorter round priced specifically. Do not assume nine holes cost exactly half an 18-hole round, or that stopping early creates a refund. Settle date changes, cancellation and treatment of a weather-interrupted round with the seller you actually pay.
Book the tee time before the journey
Contact golf reservations on +84 225 386 7956 or booking@rubytreegolf.vn.
Send the date, preferred starting window, number of players and number of holes together. Add your playing experience, rental requirements and need for English assistance. A solo golfer should ask whether the available slot involves joining another group; a request form is not a confirmed starting time.
For rental clubs, state right- or left-handed use and ask which set will be available. Confirm shoe size separately. If your main aim is a first lesson, request an instructor, language and practice arrangement instead of booking a full round and expecting tuition to be included.
Request the club’s check-in time and any required handicap information, dress rules or footwear restrictions. Treat the tee time as the moment to be ready to play, leaving additional time beforehand for reception, changing and warm-up.
Golf only or an overnight stay
Ruby Tree Golf Villas offers accommodation and Stay & Play packages alongside the course.
For a package, have the confirmation name the room category, occupancy, meal inclusions and number of rounds per golfer. A room described as being within a villa is different from exclusive use of an entire villa. Likewise, a pool shown beside one room category does not establish private-pool access for another.
Check the tee time before paying for the room if playing at a particular hour is essential. For an early round, ask how breakfast and luggage work around the start; for a later round, clarify checkout, changing and bag storage. These details can matter more than a small difference in the room price.
Non-golfers need their own usable plan. Agree on the facilities they can access, local transport and a meeting point after play. The Do Son visitor guide helps compare beach and heritage options. Confirm the day’s conditions and opening arrangements before sending companions to a separate attraction.
Get to the correct clubhouse with your golf bags
Ask reservations for the golf-clubhouse entrance pin and share it with your driver. Use the confirmed golf destination rather than a hotel reception or an old map label. Count full golf bags as well as passengers and suitcases when choosing the vehicle.
From Hanoi, the Hanoi to Hai Phong private transfer can cover the outward road journey. Request Ruby Tree’s exact drop-off, describe all equipment and obtain the final destination quote. Arrange waiting or the return journey separately; a one-way transfer does not include several hours at the course.
From central Hai Phong or Cat Bi Airport, organize the car around the confirmed tee time. Leave room for baggage collection if flying in, and avoid relying on a short city-to-course driving estimate when your starting point is elsewhere.
Ask the club for the expected playing duration for your slot, then add arrival, changing, meals and road travel. Keep the day flexible if you want to enjoy a complete round. For a late start, confirm which holes can be completed and the finish before arranging the return pickup.
Keep the round realistic on the day
Bring sun and rain protection suited to the forecast. Follow staff instructions if play is suspended, and establish where your group should wait. A booked round should not become pressure to continue when conditions deteriorate.
Check recent maintenance when your dates are flexible, especially if the condition of the greens is central to your trip. Choose Ruby Tree after confirming the correct club, a workable starting time and a complete quote. That leaves the day focused on the course rather than sorting out the booking at the gate.
