Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong is a 36-hole golf complex on Vu Yen Island, with two distinct 18-hole courses designed by IMG: Lakeside and Marshland. Lakeside suits players who enjoy a resort-style layout around lakes; Marshland offers a different challenge through wetland terrain, where choosing a sensible line matters.

For a first visit, book one 18-hole round and confirm the course, tee time and complete price before arranging transport. If you want to play both courses, allow a full day and secure both starting times. The complex also has a driving range, rental equipment and night golf, subject to the day’s available slots.

Lakeside or Marshland: which course should you book?

Lakeside Course

18 holes, par 72; listed length 7,318 yards. Lakeside combines interconnected lakes with generous fairways and large, undulating greens. The broader landing areas can make it an appealing introduction to the complex, but water and approach placement still need attention.

Choose tees that match your usual playing distance. The published course length is not the distance every golfer needs to play. Before attacking a pin, ask your caddie about the carry over water and the safer area of the green; a comfortable approach can be more useful than a few extra yards off the tee.

Marshland Course

18 holes, par 72; listed length 7,508 yards. Marshland is designed around open wetlands and emphasizes shot placement. It is a useful choice if you enjoy assessing hazards and planning your way around a course rather than automatically reaching for the driver.

On an unfamiliar hole, ask for both the carry distance and the landing area before selecting a club. Decide where a missed shot can safely finish. That approach is especially valuable when wind or a difficult lie changes the shot you originally intended to play.

If your group has mixed experience, discuss handicaps and preferred tees with the club when booking. Course availability, recent maintenance and suitable tee selection should carry more weight than a blanket claim that one layout is easy or suitable for everyone.

Booking a tee time

The club’s reservations contact is +84 225 396 8555, with email teetime-haiphong@vinpearl.com. You can also use the booking function on Vinpearl Golf’s official website. Specify Hai Phong, since the group operates courses in several destinations.

Send the information below together so the reply can cover the actual round you want:

  • Your playing date, preferred starting window and number of golfers.
  • Lakeside, Marshland or either course, and the number of holes.
  • Approximate handicaps or playing experience, including any juniors.
  • Rental needs, including right- or left-handed clubs and shoe sizes.
  • Any hotel, membership or other eligibility that might affect the rate.
  • Your required departure time if you have a flight or another fixed commitment afterward.

Groups normally have a maximum of four players. Smaller groups may be paired with other golfers at busy times. If you are traveling alone or as a pair, confirm the available starting time and grouping rather than assuming a private round.

Understanding the price of a round

Public rates vary by season, weekday versus weekend or holiday, and guest category. A promotional evening rate can also have a specific starting window. Compare quotations for the same date, number of holes and inclusions rather than comparing headline prices.

The club’s public 18-hole package includes green fee, caddie fee and a shared cart. Check those inclusions in your own booking confirmation, then ask about the items that can change the total:

  • Equipment: rental clubs and shoes, practice balls and any additional accessories.
  • Cart arrangements: whether you share and what a private-cart supplement would cost.
  • Caddie arrangements: any selection fee and the club’s guidance on gratuities; do not confuse a caddie service fee with a tip.
  • Food and drinks: whether a meal or refreshments are included in the offer.
  • Booking conditions: payment deadline, cancellation, date changes and treatment of a round interrupted by weather.

Have the club quote a shorter or longer round specifically. Do not assume that a 36-hole booking includes a second course reservation automatically, or that finishing fewer holes guarantees a proportional refund.

Practice, rentals and clubhouse facilities

The 300-yard driving range has 16 practice lanes. Leave time to warm up, particularly if you are renting unfamiliar clubs. A practice session is also a practical alternative when your schedule cannot accommodate a full round.

Club and shoe rental, caddie services, a restaurant, lockers and steam-room facilities are available. Reserve equipment ahead, especially if you need a left-handed set or a particular size. For a lesson, confirm the instructor, teaching language, duration and equipment arrangements before arriving.

Allow roughly 30–45 minutes before your tee time for arrival, check-in, changing and practice, adjusting this with the club if you need longer. Be at the starting tee at least five minutes before your booked time. Turning up at the clubhouse at that moment leaves no room for those preparations.

Can you play at night?

Yes. The club has lighting across 27 holes and offers evening golf. This can suit travelers fitting a round around daytime work or sightseeing, and players who prefer to avoid the strongest daytime heat.

Confirm the exact course combination, starting time and expected finishing time when booking. A late tee time does not establish that all 36 holes are floodlit or that both complete courses will be available. Arrange your return ride for the confirmed evening plan.

Getting to the clubhouse on Vu Yen Island

Use Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong clubhouse, Vu Yen Island as your destination and request the club’s current entrance pin. The island contains other developments, so a general Vu Yen destination can leave you at the wrong gate. Road access makes a car or taxi practical; your driver should follow the route supplied for the golf entrance.

Tell the transport provider how many golf bags and suitcases you have. A vehicle with enough passenger seats may still lack space for several full-size club bags. Agree on waiting or return pickup, including any extra charge if play runs late.

As a planning allowance, an 18-hole round may take roughly four to five hours, with check-in, practice, a meal and transport added separately. Ask the club about the expected pace for your slot. From Hanoi, treat the outing as a day trip; from Cat Bi Airport, allow for baggage collection and possible flight delay before choosing a starting time.

Dress, carts and weather

Wear proper golf clothing and footwear. Jeans and collarless T-shirts are restricted to the clubhouse under the club’s rules. If you are unsure whether particular shoes are acceptable, check before packing or arranging a rental.

Players use carts, and the normal rule is to keep them on designated paths unless staff authorize otherwise. Follow the starter’s and caddie’s instructions, keep pace with the group ahead and wait until the landing area is clear before hitting.

Carry sun protection and prepare for rain. When play is suspended for lightning or other unsafe conditions, follow staff directions and wait for permission to resume. Confirm the club’s policy on outside food and drinks before bringing your own provisions.

If your trip also includes the capital, compare golf options for visitors staying in Hanoi. Long Bien, Kings Island and Sky Lake offer different settings and booking arrangements, so choose a separate Hanoi round around your itinerary rather than assuming that a Hai Phong outing is the shortest option from every hotel.

For a smooth first round, settle three things before traveling: the course you will play, a confirmed tee time and the complete cost. Then plan enough time around the golf itself to enjoy the course without putting your next journey at risk.
