Cabin choice matters here. Deluxe and Executive rooms have windows but no private balcony; the Suite category has a balcony. If sitting outside your own room is a priority, compare the actual Suite price with other ships rather than judging Starlight by its lowest cabin rate.

Get the exact ship name and daily program written into your confirmation. A quotation that simply says “La Regina” is not precise enough: Grand, Legend, Royal and Classic names appear across the brand’s material, and you should not assume they share the same cabin or route. Ask which cave or kayaking area your departure will use and whether the longer itinerary includes a separate day boat.
Choose it for: the suite and balcony arrangement once the vessel and itinerary are clear.

If you specifically want Bai Tu Long Bay
Choose an itinerary that explicitly names Bai Tu Long and its stops. Starlight’s two-day Halong route and The Au Co’s Halong–Lan Ha voyage are different choices.
HPT does not offer a Bai Tu Long day cruise because the route is too far for a one-day program. Plan at least two days and one night and compare the available Bai Tu Long overnight cruises. Judge the trip by its route, cabin and included experiences rather than assuming that every bay offers the same style of large luxury vessel.
What to confirm before paying
- Vessel and cabin: exact ship, cabin category, deck, bed configuration, balcony or window, bathroom layout and any extra bed. For connecting rooms, request written confirmation of the connecting door.
- Total price: whether the quote is per person or per cabin, how many adults and children it covers, and whether tax, entrance fees, kayaking, road transfers and holiday supplements are included.
- Port and meeting point: Tuan Chau Marina and Halong International Cruise Port in Bai Chay are different places. Ask for the lounge name, location pin and check-in deadline, not just “Halong port.”
