Bao Son Paradise, or Thiên Đường Bảo Sơn, is a theme park in An Khanh, west of central Hanoi. It combines an aquarium, animal exhibits, Happy Farm, rides and entertainment in one large outing. It suits families who want a day of mixed activities and are willing to travel beyond the central sightseeing area.
The day you choose changes what your ticket buys. Under the operating plan for September 3–December 31, 2026, the park opens Tuesday–Sunday, Saturday uses the separate-ride ticket arrangement, and Sunday has the broader package. Castaway Lagoon water park is closed during this period. Choose Bao Son for the attractions actually operating on your date, rather than assuming that summer water-park photographs describe a year-round visit.
Choose the day before choosing the ticket
Hours during that period are 8 a.m.–5 p.m., with Monday closure. Allow a substantial part of the day for a family visit, including the journey from Hanoi. Someone mainly interested in the aquarium and farm can make a shorter outing; a ride-focused family should arrive early enough to use its package.
- Tuesday–Saturday: admission is 250,000 VND in the taller visitor category and 200,000 VND in the child category. It covers the park’s main sightseeing areas, Kids Town and the included animal performances. Only some rides operate, with separate ride tickets.
- Sunday: the package is 400,000 VND in the taller category and 300,000 VND in the child category. It adds the operating ride package, Cosmos Theater and the scheduled entertainment, including water puppetry. VR Game Park remains an extra.
- Children under 100 cm: free admission applies under the park’s height policy. That does not make a small child eligible for rides with a higher minimum height.
For online booking, the park’s general height rules put children from 100 cm to under 130 cm in the child category and visitors from 130 cm in the taller category. Measure before purchasing, and confirm the category if your child is right on the boundary. Tickets are checked against height at entry.
Check the dated price notice again when booking beyond this period or for a holiday. A special-event ticket can replace the ordinary arrangement. Food, accommodation and separately priced activities still need their own budget.
What deserves your time inside
The aquarium: living exhibits and model displays
The aquarium has freshwater and marine sections, including a transparent viewing tunnel. It is a useful indoor break between outdoor areas, particularly for children who enjoy watching animals without joining a ride.
The upper exhibition areas add animal displays and a dinosaur-themed section. Some of these are models and specimens, not live exhibits. Explain that distinction to children before entering; the appeal changes from watching living fish to an imaginative display with sound and lighting.
Do not rush through the aquarium simply to reach every attraction. Choose a few tanks to observe closely, then decide whether your family wants the additional themed floors. For a child sensitive to loud effects or dark spaces, the dinosaur section can be optional.
Happy Farm and the smaller-child route
Happy Farm mixes animal areas, play spaces, gardens and themed photo settings. It offers a different pace from the larger rides. Younger children can spend their most energetic part of the day here rather than waiting while adults work through a thrill-ride list.
Some farm activities, workshops and feeding experiences depend on the day’s arrangements. Follow staff directions and use only approved food for animals. Treat a specific class as something to confirm, rather than an automatic part of every admission ticket.
Kids Town is another useful option for small children. Bring non-slip socks, which the park requires for this play area. The operator’s ride list identifies a height limit below 130 cm, so it is not a general playground for children of every size.
Safari: a zoo area with additional entertainment
The park calls its animal complex Safari. Expect managed animal exhibits in landscaped grounds, rather than a wilderness safari or a drive through a national park. The surrounding area also includes a water ride and a performance stage.
Choose the animal viewing you want and follow the staff-led arrangements for any interaction. Performances and feeding activities are optional parts of your route; you can focus on observing the exhibits if that better suits your family.
The water ride in the Safari area and the separate Castaway Lagoon water park are different attractions. A notice about one does not confirm that the other is open. Check the status and height requirement for the actual ride before joining its queue.
Rides and Cosmos Theater
The ride mix includes spinning attractions, a pirate ship, drop-style experiences and family rides. Eligibility varies considerably: a child may qualify for one attraction but be too short or too tall for another. Use the entrance signs and staff measurement for each ride.
Make two short lists before buying: the rides your children can use and the ones they actually want. That makes the Sunday package easier to judge. A large advertised ride count matters little if the family’s preferred rides are closed or outside their height range.
Cosmos Theater uses wraparound visual effects and a glasses-free 3D presentation. It is an immersive attraction, rather than a conventional feature-film screening. Check the session and whether it is included in your day’s ticket; its lighting and sound may be too intense for some young children.
Themed streets and water puppetry
The craft-village and old-street areas give you a slower walking option between activities. These are parts of a designed entertainment park. For a trip centered on working artisans or historic village architecture, choose a dedicated village visit instead.
Water puppetry appears in the park’s entertainment program. Obtain the actual performance time after arrival; a ticket that includes the program does not mean a show runs continuously. Let a confirmed performance anchor your route instead of returning repeatedly to an empty stage.
A manageable family route
- At entry: collect the map and check the day’s ride and performance boards. Identify one main attraction for each child.
- First block: use cooler morning time for Happy Farm or the outdoor animal area, or start with the rides that matter most to your family.
- Middle of the day: stop for a proper meal and take a slower aquarium visit. Adjust the order if a booked show has a fixed time.
- Afternoon: add a selected performance, play session or a few eligible rides. Leave room for the walk back to the exit and your return pickup.
For a toddler, the farm, aquarium and one play session may be enough. For older children, choose a date with the ride package and spend less time in themed photo areas. These are planning suggestions; the day’s operating board should determine the final sequence.
Food, rest and what to bring
Food outlets are spread through the grounds. Tiem An Hat De is in Happy Farm, while other options include the old-street food area and Safari Cafe. Pick a meal near your route rather than crossing the park solely for a restaurant name. Individual outlets and menus can vary by operating day.
Outside food and drink are restricted, with exceptions for children’s food, special diets and religious dietary needs. Clarify a necessary exception before arrival. Do not plan a full family picnic on the assumption that a large outdoor park permits it.
Wear shoes suitable for a long walk, bring sun protection and keep a light rain layer available. Non-slip socks matter for Kids Town. During a confirmed swimming season, add swimwear and towels, but there is no reason to carry a full swimming bag when Castaway Lagoon is closed.
If you need step-free access, ask specifically about the aquarium floors, your chosen attractions, toilets and the route between them. The park is a mix of outdoor paths and indoor buildings; do not infer complete accessibility from one accessible entrance.
Getting there from Hanoi
Use Cong vien Thien Duong Bao Son, Km5+200 Le Trong Tan, An Khanh, Hanoi as the destination. Older addresses also include Hoai Duc. Make sure the map points to the park entrance rather than another Bao Son business or a similarly named street elsewhere.
A taxi or arranged car is the simplest option with young children. Check the journey estimate from your actual hotel and organize the return meeting point. An early departure helps preserve usable park time; heavy traffic can absorb a large part of a short afternoon visit.
Bus 19 is listed by the park as a public-transport option serving the Le Trong Tan side. Confirm the current stop and return direction before boarding. Other buses running along Thang Long Avenue may leave you with a separate last leg rather than at the entrance.
Do not improvise a crossing of the expressway or walk through roadworks to reach the park. Use a legal pedestrian route or a short connecting taxi when the stop is on the wrong side. With tired children, include that final connection in the cost comparison.
When Bao Son is the right day out
Choose Bao Son when your family wants a varied theme-park day and can match the ticket to the operating attractions. Choose a smaller indoor outing if the weather is poor, you only want an aquarium, or you have just a short gap between central Hanoi activities.
The Hanoi family guide helps set a realistic daily pace. If adults would prefer a cultural or countryside excursion, compare the alternatives in the Hanoi day-trips guide. The most useful Bao Son booking begins with the day, the children’s heights and the attractions they want to use.
