An escape room works well as a short indoor break in Hanoi for couples, friends and families with older children who enjoy solving puzzles together. At Miss Terry, games last up to 60 minutes, with different stories and group sizes across several addresses. The most convenient option for an Old Quarter stay is 70 Hang Bac; larger teams have more choice at Hoang Quoc Viet.
Choose the story, language and room capacity before choosing a time. A horror room and a fantasy puzzle game can feel very different, even when they cost the same. This guide focuses on Miss Terry’s rooms and booking arrangements, so you can organize a specific visit rather than choose from an untested ranking.
Choose a location and a story that fit your group
70 Hang Bac: the simplest Old Quarter option
Blood Dragon accommodates two to five players. Its fictional setting is 1990s Hong Kong: your team infiltrates a rival gang’s bar to recover information. Choose it for a crime-and-espionage premise and the convenience of staying in the Old Quarter.
Room 1704 takes two to six players and uses a haunted-motel story. It is the more obviously supernatural choice, with disturbing themes involving death and a missing child. Confirm the minimum age for your booking; do not assume it is suitable for a younger teenager simply because they enjoy puzzles.
Hang Bac is useful when you want to place the game between sightseeing and dinner without a cross-city journey. Give everyone the full address, 70 Hang Bac, rather than only the company name.
24 Hoang Quoc Viet: more room for a larger team
This branch is on the 11th floor of 24 Hoang Quoc Viet, northwest of the central visitor area. Its three featured games each accommodate two to eight players:
- Elixir of Dreams: a fantasy coffee-shop setting built around finding a mysterious recipe. Start with this option if your group wants an imaginative premise rather than a haunted-room story.
- Secret Agent: an espionage mission to retrieve stolen confidential information. It suits a team drawn to a spy narrative.
- Heist of the Century: a bank-vault mission with a published minimum age of 14. Bring identification for an age-restricted room.
Allow for the journey and finding the correct floor. A group of seven or eight should choose a room with that capacity rather than arrive at Hang Bac expecting the smaller rooms to expand.
168 Ngoc Khanh: the Wonderland option
Down the Rabbit Hole is listed on the fifth floor of 168 Ngoc Khanh. It accommodates two to eight players in a Wonderland-themed adventure involving stolen magical objects and a race to clear your team’s name.
Use the address on your booking confirmation for this room. Do not navigate to an older Doi Can address. The fantasy setting is a useful starting point for a family enquiry, but ask about the actual effects and age suitability before promising it to a child.
How much an escape room costs
The standard team price is 500,000 VND for two players or 650,000 VND for three or four players. Each additional player costs 150,000 VND, within the room’s capacity. These are group prices, not a separate admission charge for every person.
A 100,000 VND surcharge per session applies from Friday at 5 p.m. through Sunday. VAT is additional, and public holidays use separate terms. For example, four people pay a base 650,000 VND on an ordinary weekday or 750,000 VND during that weekend window, before VAT and any payment charge.
Ask for the final amount for your date, team size and payment method. A team of three and a team of four have the same standard base price, but a fifth person changes both the bill and the choice of suitable rooms. Avoid booking an extra player into a room that has already reached its maximum.
English, timing and the booking details that matter
Contact Miss Terry on 0888 837 755, or +84 888 837 755, with the room name, preferred time, player count and any children’s ages. Request English for the briefing, written or recorded clues and hints. Confirm all three rather than assuming an English booking page means every part of every game is available in English.
The usual operating window is 10 a.m.–10:30 p.m., with the final start time depending on the room. Reserve an actual session; arriving shortly before closing does not leave time for a full game. Arrive at least 15 minutes before your start for the briefing, and allow roughly 90 minutes at the venue as a practical planning margin.
If you arrive late, the available playing time can be reduced. Leave extra travel time for a branch outside the Old Quarter, particularly if several players are meeting from different hotels. Settle the room address and start time in the group chat before anyone sets off.
Children, horror and playing comfortably
Children under 12 need adult supervision. Choose for the youngest or most sensitive person in the group: the absence of a horror label does not establish that a room is suitable for every child. Describe what matters, such as darkness, sudden sounds or frightening characters, and ask the staff to recommend a specific game.
Before starting, ask how to contact the game master and leave the room if someone wants to stop. You can end your participation, but leaving early does not entitle you to a refund. Agree within the group that finishing every puzzle is optional; no one should feel pressured to continue an experience they dislike.
Phones stay in the provided lockers during play, and food and drinks remain outside the room. You can ask the game master for hints. Give everyone a task, describe useful discoveries aloud and ask for help when the group is stuck rather than spending the whole session silently repeating one unsuccessful idea.
Fit the game into a Hanoi day
For a central stay, book Hang Bac before a relaxed meal nearby. For Hoang Quoc Viet or Ngoc Khanh, make the escape room the reason for that journey and keep the rest of the afternoon flexible. The activity offers a break from outdoor sightseeing, but it is still an appointment that needs punctual arrival.
If children would prefer movement to puzzles, compare ice skating at Royal City instead. It involves a different location, equipment and public-session arrangement, so choose one activity first. Our Hanoi family travel guide can help you protect meal and rest time around it.
Before paying, check the confirmed address, English arrangements, age eligibility and total bill together. Those details matter more than a room’s dramatic name: the right choice is one your whole group wants to play and can comfortably reach on time.
